Dear MAESTRO User:
For many years, Optimum Structural Design, Inc. (OSD) has worked closely with the Proteus Engineering division of Alion Science and Technology for the development, distribution, and technical support of MAESTRO. In fact, portions of the MAESTRO suite were developed and owned by Proteus.
In the past year, Proteus has undergone changes in its staff and business focus, and as a result, OSD and Proteus mutually agreed that it was in the best interest of MAESTRO, the user community, and the two companies that complete ownership of MAESTRO be transferred to OSD. Therefore, effective March 17, 2008, OSD owns the intellectual property rights to all of MAESTRO, and Proteus will no longer be distributing MAESTRO or providing technical support and updates.
OSD would like to take this opportunity to thank Proteus Engineering for the many valuable contributions to MAESTRO over the years. During the time that the two companies have worked together, MAESTRO has continued to be a state-of-the-art design and analysis tool, unique in the marine industry. MAESTRO is used and recognized throughout the world, thanks in large part to the dedication and hard work of the staff at Proteus.
Going forward, OSD has entered into an agreement with DRS C3 Advanced Technology Center (ATC), to provide distribution, development, and technical support for MAESTRO. Many of the engineers that have been instrumental in MAESTRO’s development are now members of the ATC staff. The ATC will take over all current maintenance and support from Proteus, will be doing further development on MAESTRO, and will distribute MAESTRO worldwide, working with the resellers that are already representing MAESTRO in their locales.
